The Samsung Jet Bot+ is a sleek, storm-trooper-inspired robot vacuum with a host of features to help keep your home clean. Powered by the Samsung SmartThings app, this robot can be controlled remotely and is compatible with voice integrations, such as Alexa and Google Assistant. The app is easy to use and offers many settings including scheduling and customizable cleaning modes.

The robot starts by mapping the area it'll clean, and then creating a digital floorplan that you can view within the app. After the mapping is completed the robot begins to clean the areas it mapped out, bumping into furniture and corners with ease (although it may get stuck on some items like the base of an upright fan).

This feature is a real time saver and means you don't have to think about emptying the bin on your own. The Clean Station also serves as an outlet for charging the bot This is an added bonus.

Be sure to check these often. The app also alerted me when the brush was full of tangles, which is a useful reminder.

The Samsung Jet Bot+ will be a fantastic addition to any family who is looking for a more convenient method to keep their home clean. It's a bit more costly than other robot vacuums but it offers a wide range of features that are worth the extra cost.

Neato Botvac D7

The Neato Botvac D7 is one of the strongest robot vacuums on the market. It delivers excellent performance on bare floors, carpets with high pile, and pet hair. Its flexibility, maneuverability, ease of use and power are top-notch. However, it is not suited for hard surfaces because it can't mop. It has a high price and ongoing costs.

Like the other members of the Neato Botvac line, this model has a distinctive "D" shape that gives it two angles that allow it to clean along walls and into corners better than round competitors. Its turret houses the Botvision sensors that scan and map your home for superior navigation.

Installing the D7 is simple: establish a Wi-Fi connection and then download the Neato app and follow the on-screen instructions to connect the vacuum to your home's wireless router. Once connected you can set up your cleaning schedule with the app and select from a range of modes. The bots include House, Spot and Manual.

When fully charged, D7 begins to learn your floorplan by creating an electronic map of your space. Once the map has been completed, it'll begin cleaning. This process can take about an hour for our apartment, though it may be quicker when you choose to use the slower Eco mode.

The D7's indicator for battery will light up yellow when it is near being depleted. It will glow green when fully charged. The D7 has a bigger battery than the newer D8 and can run for up to two hours on its maximum 'Turbo' power.

While the D7 does an excellent job at cleaning bare floors however, it can get stuck on furniture feet and legs and isn't able to easily move to the top or bottom of stairs. In these situations, it'll send a notification to the app so you can help it out.

Dyson Ball Multi-Floor Cleaner

The Multi-Floor Cleaner is an upright vacuum cleaner that uses Radial Root Cyclone technology to maximize suction. The brush bar was revamped to be shorter and stiffer bristles that are able to penetrate carpet fibers and pick up dirt more effectively, without harming them. The updated floorhead automatically adjusts to carpets or hard floors and seals in suction. The hose and wand are released in one smooth motion, making it easier to reach up or under furniture. It features a complete-machine HEPA filter to ensure that allergens and bacteria will be trapped within the machine, rather than emitted back into your home.

Anyone suffering from asthma or allergies can find the Multi Floor an excellent choice. Its suction power makes it capable of picking up most dirt and debris from your floors, including many tiny particles that are normally scattered throughout the air. It works well on low pile and high pile carpet. It comes with an extended cord that makes it easy to move around your home.

It's heavier than some of the other vacuums we tested, however, it's still quite lightweight and easy to move from room room. Additionally, it comes with a bagless dirt bin that can be emptied at the press of an button. The bin can hold 0.6 cubic feet and is transparent so you can see when it's filled.

It didn't do quite as well on bare floors as the Hoover WindTunnel 2 Whole House Rewind however, it was a success in cleaning up rice and kitty litter from a carpeted floor. It's also more effective in removing sand in carpets of medium pile as compared to the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe. It's also more easy to maintain, and incurs almost no recurring costs, as opposed to the BISSELL Bagless Canister.

Hoover WindTunnel Cleaner

The Hoover WindTunnel Cleaner is a bagless upright with strong suction and a reasonable price tag. It is a good vacuum to clean dust, pet hair, and other debris from carpets and floors. However, it is not the most durable vacuum in this class and has a tendency to lose performance as the dirt compartment gets full. This can be a problem if you have many furniture pieces or pet hair.

The design is easy to maneuver and relatively sturdy, but some owners felt it was a bit heavy for this type vacuum. The cord isn't long however, it automatically retracts. One feature that a lot of customers appreciate is that it can manage the transition between carpeting and hard floors without switching off the vacuum.

One of the major selling points for this model is the QuickPass brush roll that allows you to clean up surface debris in only one sweep. The patented WindTunnel 3 Technology also creates suction channels that lift and eliminate dirt from the surface as well as dirt that is deeply embedded. This is further enhanced by a filter made of HEPA media and carbon that is used to absorb odors.

Another feature that this vacuum has is the rewind feature. The rewind system lets you to take off a few feet at a time, without needing to unravel the entire cord. It also comes with a variety of hose tools that let you reach into difficult-to-access areas.

While the Hoover WindTunnel Cleaner does a decent job on bare floors, it isn't as good with larger particles and pet hair. It can also struggle to traverse carpets with high pile. In this category it would be more similar to the BISSELL PowerForce Helix. It is a bit more robust and has a larger bin. It is also easier to maintain, and has fewer recurring costs.

Hoover WindTunnel's filter is rinsable, and should only be cleaned if it shows signs of contamination. This is a great method to reduce the need for replacement filters and also keep your home cleaner for longer.
